Dubai Municipality has deployed a Nortel data center solution to support e-Government services within the organization.
The data center will support current e-services such as the e-Permit system that enables faster import of goods and the e-Complaint system for handling online complaints from Dubai residents, as well as new services that are planned for launch.
“e-Government services require an ‘always-on’ infrastructure with robust resiliency and high availability for uninterrupted services and mission critical applications,” said Ramin Attari, vice president and managing director, Nortel Middle East.
“The new data centre architecture enables us to roll out new e-services like e-planning and offers more opportunities for e-participation as well as giving us the reliability and performance our staff needs,” said Yousef Mohammad AlShaiba, head of Operations and Infrastructure, Dubai Municipality.
A common communications network infrastructure services will help facilitate e-Government initiatives in the municipality and bring in added productivity.
