Red Hat recruits the global sales and services boss of Open-Xchange to manage its channel strategy in EMEA.
Open source software outfit Red Hat has hired the former worldwide sales and services chief at e-mail specialist Open-Xchange to run its partner strategy in the EMEA region.
Petra Heinrich - who assumes the mantle of director of channels and partners EMEA - will be responsible for developing Red Hat's relationship with the channel. Heinrich started her career at Lotus Development where she looked after business partners, distribution and partner marketing before moving to Intraware.
She then moved to open source distributor SuSE Linux and fused the indirect sales activities of both companies in EMEA when it was bought by Novell three years ago.
"Red Hat's integrated platform of solutions and services, including the JBoss product offerings, provides resellers, systems integrators and hardware and software partners manifold possibilities to expand their open source businesses," she said. "Red Hat has achieved tremendous growth in recent years and we are well aware that this development can only be achieved with our partners," she concluded.
