New jobs website aims to cut Bahraini unemployment

Site specifically targets local talent in bid to cut jobless rates in the kingdom.

New jobs website aims to cut Bahraini unemployment

A new jobs website for Bahrainis went live on Wednesday with 365 positions available across 20 sectors, its creators said.

Jobs4Bahrainis.com

is a joint venture by the Gulf-wide recruitment company Gulf Connexions and the publishing and marketing firm Al Hilal Group, reports the Gulf Daily News.

It is a site where jobseekers can search for vacancies and upload their CVs, with more than 2,000 people already doing so, Ronnie Middleton, Al Hilal managing director, told a press conference.

The site is specifically targeting Bahrainis in a bid to lower unemployment rates among the local population, according to the report.

"Jobs4Bahrainis.com is the first service of its type in Bahrain, providing employers with access to Bahraini talent and enabling Bahrainis to search for job opportunities within their specialised or preferred employment sectors,” Middleton was quoted as saying.

Executives told the paper the site would not only feature jobs in the kingdom but in other countries as well, and that they aimed to get the government body Tamkeen onboard.
