MICE-bookers are being offered a one-day training session on the facilities and opportunities available in countries across Asia Pacific.
ITP Business Publishing's latest hospitality title, Meetings Industry Middle East (MIME), which will be launched on January 1, has teamed up with Dubai-based boutique tourism marketing group Fusion Marketing to run the workshop at the newly opened InterContinental Dubai Festival City on February 3.
Fusion is also the Gulf's representation company for the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and has therefore already secured Singapore, Korea and Thailand to take part in the seminar. At time of press, several more PATA member countries were set to confirm.
Each participating country will give a presentation on their country and what it has to offer the MICE market. In addition, MIME and Fusion will invite a keynote speaker to address MICE-bookers on pertinent industry issues.
"The event is designed to help those who book meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions to make informed decisions when selecting a location and its facilities," explained ITP Business senior group editor Gemma Greenwood.
"We expect the event to attract a wide range of MICE-bookers, as well as corporate travel agents - basically MIME's target market."
Fusion Marketing executive director Nicki Page added: "With increasing business from the Gulf region to Asia Pacific, and business flows from Asia Pacific to the region, we are delighted that a number of PATA members are participating in this event.
"This initiative supported by MIME and IHG Dubai Festival City will provide an excellent platform for us to support understanding of the opportunities for group business into the PATA region."
