Officials say huge strides have been made to make the city greener, 42 public parks now exist.
Two new public parks have been opened by Dubai officials on Wednesday as part of a drive to increase the emirate’s green spaces.
Huge strides have been taken to make the city greener, said Hussein Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality in a statement.
Forty two parks now exist across the emirate as well as 49 “popular squares and recreational beaches”, he said.
Lootah said last year some 5.7 million people attended events organised in Dubai’s six major parks – Mushrif, Safa, Mamzar, Creek, Jumeirah Beach, Zabeel. A further 327,000 people visited Dubai zoo.
“The parks and recreation sector witnessed considerable development over the past three years in terms of developing existing parks and upgrading their facilities and adding new facilities," he said.
Al Nahda Pond Park and Al Qusais-2 Residential Park were the latest parks to be inaugurated by officials. The announcement follows a series of new openings this week in Al Barsha, Al Quoz and Al Qusais.
A further green space – New Garhoud Park – is set to open on Thursday, the statement said.
The news parks have been opened as part of Plantation Week.
Dubai is a wonderful place to visit and everyone likes to visit Dubai once in a life. New gardens have opened in Dubai, which will increase the beauty of Dubai. Dubai is known for its adventures and beautiful places, the most beautiful places of Dubai are Palm Island of Dubai and Dubai autodrome.
Interesting thoughts here. Are you certain this is the conscientious way to look at it though? My own experience is that we should pretty much live and let live because what one person observes as just — another person simply does not. Human beings are going to do what they want to do.http://www.bayut.com
