Al Safeer Group's expansion plan on schedule after 'soft opening' of its fourth mall in the UAE.
The expansion strategy of Sharjah-based Al Safeer Group has taken a major step forward with the opening of its fourth shopping and leisure complex in the UAE.
The 200 million dirham Safeer Mall in Ras Al Khaimah opened on Wednesday and more than 30,000 people visited the new shopping centre on the opening day.
The mall features a major Safeer hypermarket as its flagship store and about 100 other retail outlets as well as restaurants, Jungle Bungle family entertainment centre and parking for 1,500 cars. Total retail space covers 500,000 square metres.
“Although this was a 'soft opening' without any official ceremony, the public interest was, and continues to be, extraordinary,” said Mahesh Kalwani, chief operating officer of Al Safeer Group.
“It is extremely encouraging and gives an early indication that the Al Safeer Shopping mall concept will be successful in different emirates throughout the country.”
Dubai's Century Mall, Safeer Mall, Sharjah, and Ajman are also managed by Al Safeer Group, a billion dirham conglomerate with diversified interests in real estate, retail, furniture, manufacturing and trading, across the GCC.
Also part of the group are over 40 hypermarkets, more than 30 boutique stores in fashion and lifestyle, home furnishings and gift ideas and footwear, and five family entertainment centres, including Space City, the largest in the UAE.
“While our core market will always be the UAE, Safeer Mall brand is moving into many of the major markets of the Middle East. Our next regional venture will be in Sohar (Oman) while in the UAE we will shortly be announcing the opening of Fujairah Century Mall,” added Kalwani.
