New VOX Cinemas in Doha to feature 4D, Gary Rhodes concepts

Doha Festival City, Qatar’s QR6.5 billion entertainment, retail and hospitality destination which is set to open in March, has announced the mall will be home to VOX Cinemas.

Set to open across 18 screens, the Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas brand outlet will include four new concepts unique to Doha Festival City, a statement said.

The VOX 4DX concept, exclusive to VOX Cinemas in the Middle East, will finally be available for movie lovers in Doha.

The cinema’s 4DX technology offers audiences simulated rain, wind, thunder, lightning, motion and even scents. Equipped with dynamic 4DX motion chairs and engaging environmental effects, 4DX turns each movie into a journey beyond imagination, it added.

VOX Cinemas’ luxury culinary concept THEATRE by Rhodes, the brainchild of Michelin Star celebrity chef Gary Rhodes and the first of its kind in Qatar, will also be launched.

The statement added that VOX MAX will also feature and includes a wall-to-wall screen and the latest in sound technology while VOX KIDS will offer a cinema for little ones with an adjoining party room perfect for birthday celebrations.

Trevor Hill, general manager, Doha Festival City, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this concept to Qatar for the first time – showcasing what it does best.
