Olympic team scores an ACE

Network Rail chief executive John Armitt has been appointed as new chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).

Network Rail chief executive John Armitt has been appointed as new chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).

Armitt, who is also a member of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), will take up the position on 1 September after leaving Network Rail in July.

Commenting on the appointment, Nelson Ogunshakin, chief executive, ACE said:

"I believe the ODA has chosen well. John's wide-ranging experience of project leadership and delivery and his ability to deal with complex stakeholders will stand him in good stead for this new challenge."
