Oman Air says Tehran flight delayed after runway incident

National carrier says one of its aircraft had its wings clipped by another plane at airport in Tehran

Oman Air says Tehran flight delayed after runway incident

Oman Air flight WY432, due to depart on Thursday from Tehran to Oman's capital city Muscat, has been delayed due to an incident on the runway.

Oman Air said in a statement that the wings of its stationary aircraft were clipped by another airliner as it passed.

No-one was hurt and no-one was at risk, but the aircraft must now be carefully inspected by engineers before it is declared fit to fly, the statement said.

It added: "Passengers have been informed and arrangements are currently being made to either provide accommodation in Tehran or to find an alternative flight.

"We apologise for the delay and resulting inconvenience, but our over-riding priority is the safety of all our passengers and crew. We are grateful for the patience and understanding shown by the affected passengers and we look forward to seeing them continue their journeys at the earliest opportunity."
