Oman mega project rebrands to reflect Arabic heritage

The Wave Muscat is renamed Al Mouj Muscat as new phase of development to include luxury hotels is set to launch

Oman mega project rebrands to reflect Arabic heritage

The Wave, Muscat, Oman's biggest integrated tourism complex, has been rebranded to embrace its Arabic translation to become Al Mouj Muscat.

With plans in place to expand the thriving waterfront community with a new school, more hotels and a harbour-side piazza, the development is in the last stages of finalising its much-anticipated new masterplan.

"Today marks a new phase of the project's maturity as we celebrate the depth of our Arabian heritage and the strength of our joint venture partners in an all-encompassing modern visual identity," said Hawazen Esber, CEO of Al Mouj Muscat.

Al Mouj Muscat was the first real estate development in Oman to open its doors to foreign investors when it broke ground in 2006.

Today, the waterfront community is home to over 4,000 residents and this number is expected to grow by more than 50 percent in the next few years.

Nasser Al Sheibani, chief financial officer at Al Mouj Muscat said: "The Al Mouj Muscat evolution will strengthen the company's position in both local and regional markets as the most successful integrated tourism project in Oman. Today marks a beginning of a new era in delivering a sustainable living environment, lifestyle and leisure for residents, visitors and tourists."

Spread along a 6km stretch of Muscat's coastline, the project comprises a group of luxury residential properties, commercial units, retail and dining facilities and Oman's only signature designed PGA Standard 18 hole links golf course, designed by Greg Norman.

Al Mouj Muscat is also home to the 400 berth Almouj Marina, Oman's largest private yachting hub and most recently The Walk, a 50 unit retail area which forms the commercial and leisure hub of the community.

The next phase of development will see luxury hotels, new residential leisure and hospitality offerings.
