A recruitment drive to find key senior executives to run Oman's new convention and exhibition centre has started.
Venue management specialists AEG Ogden said it was stepping up its recruitment, following the appointment of a general manager last month.
Located in Al Irfan, the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre is being constructed in two stages. Stage One, incorporating 22,000 sq m of exhibition space will be completed in 2015, followed by Stage Two, featuring 3,200 and 450 seat tiered theatres, 14 meeting rooms and two ballrooms due for completion in late 2016.
Candidates are being sought for the positions of director of Finance & Administration, director of Human Resources and Protocol & liaison manager, a statement said.
Additionally, experienced sales professionals are being sought for a director of Sales & Marketing and sales manager - Exhibitions, as well as an executive analyst.
Trevor McCartney, general manager for the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, said that the recruitment of these key positions was another major milestone in the lead up to the completion of the venue in 2016.
The centre is situated within a new business precinct and has been designed to accommodate world congresses, exhibitions, regional meetings, banquets, gala events, performances and concerts.
