Oman TradaNet connects with GBM

GBM Oman, IBM's business partner for Oman has signed up with TradaNet Oman, the newly launched online exchange, to promote IBM's e-business solutions to the financial and government sectors in the country.

Gulf Business Machines has signed up with the Oman Tradanet (OTN) online exchange to offer its e-business products to companies in Oman. The recently launched exchange will offer IBM e-business solutions as a one-stop shop, initially focusing on the Financial and Government sectors within the country.

Andre Podgaietsky, general manager of GBM Oman, underscored the importance of the alliance. “The combination of our competencies in the area of e-business will enhance the circulation of information throughout Oman and the rest of the region to benefit government services, financial institutions, private businesses and the education sector,” he said.

Alan Livingston, chief executive officer of OTN, commented: “In the coming months ahead, Oman will be moving into the new information age, and our exchange will be greatly enhanced with the availability of high quality e-commerce applications. We are delighted to be making this announcement, as IBM and GBM are undoubtedly the number one choice for providing e-commerce solutions today.”
