Omnicom Media Group, the parent network of media agencies OMD and PHD, has reshuffled its senior management.

Ravi Rao, currently general manager of OMD in Dubai, has been promoted to regional executive director, group development at OMG.

In his new role, Rao will drive the group's digital media, branded entertainment and experiential marketing offers, and oversee the group's investment in research services. Rao has also been briefed to develop and nurture talent across the group.

Shadi Kandil, the director of OMG's insights unit Integral, is moving to OMD to take up the role vacated by Rao. And Hisham Abi Nassif has been promoted from director of planning to the role of deputy general manager.

It is the first management restructure at the business since the launch of OMD five years ago.

Alain Khouri, regional chairman of Omnicom Media Group, said: "The aim of this refocusing of talent is two-fold. First, it is to further consolidate our leadership position and pave the way for future growth amidst a constantly changing media landscape and growing client needs for specialisation and accountability.

"It also rewards the huge amount of work that has gone on since our inception five years ago, particularly Ravi's, who has been OMD's GM in Dubai from day one."

The appointments are effective immediately and precede several other announcements in the coming months.
