On the buses with Concept Media

Emirates Neon has the lost the contract to advertise on Dubai buses, after Concept Media outbid them in a two-way tender.

Concept Media now has the exclusive right to sell ad space on all of Dubai Municipality’s 600 buses for the next three years.

“Bus advertising accounted for a small portion of advertising budgets, but now it is increasingly commanding a larger share. This advertising medium is an outstanding combination of reach and recognition. As a result companies across various industry sectors are coming to recognise this as a vibrant and highly effective medium,” said Aldrin Fernandes, CEO, Concept Group.

In January last year, Concept Media won the rights to place advertising on 230 new Dubai buses, with the remainder belonging to Emirates Neon. Emirates Neon’s contract ran out earlier this year, and the contract was re-tendered, with Concept winning out.

The buses cover an estimated, 165,000 km, and make 1,380 stops along 62 routes everyday.

Concept Media’s clients include Cellucom, Lipton, Axe, Emirates Islamic Bank, 7Days, and AME Info. It offers advertising options such as full wraps, mega rears, which cover the entire back of a bus, as well as mega sides, which cover the side of a bus including the windows.
