Online adds value add business unit to its portfolio

Online Distribution has opened a value add business unit to its portfolio in a bid to enhance its appeal to vendors and resellers in the region.

Online Distribution has opened a value add business unit to its portfolio in a bid to enhance its appeal to vendors and resellers in the region.

The new business unit will see the distributor extend its offering of pre-sales and post-sales support to the channel.

The ‘Value Add Distribution (VAD) Service' business unit will focus on delivering pre-sales consultancy, proof of concept, demo kit offers, site surveys, channel training, telephone and e-mail support, and return merchandise authorisation.

"The addition of the VAD service stresses our differentiation in the market as a true value added distributor," said Madhusudhan Rao, VAD service manager at Online.

Rao said the unit will help the distributor to develop the technical expertise of its channel partners enabling them to get an edge over other resellers in the region.

"Through the newly open VAD services unit, Online Distribution will provide technical support, training assistance and a full resource of product and technology expertise to our valued customers at all times," he said. "Training and developing the overall capabilities of our partners' employees will help them to hold a better positioning in the market place," he added.

The distributor claims its new VAD Service unit forms part of its strategic reorganisation to offer dedicated business units to focus on core technology sectors. It claims the reform will be supported by a recruitment and expansion drive in the Middle East.
