Hydra OpenAir Cinema UAE 2008 has revealed the programme for its 24-night season in the country, set to start on November 10 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai and move to Abu Dhabi on December 1.

Hydra OpenAir Cinema UAE 2008 has revealed the programme for its 24-night season in the country, set to start on November 10 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai and move to Abu Dhabi on December 1.

The launch highlight will be the screening of new James Bond film The Quantum of Solace on Swiss OpenAir Concept's largest ever patented mobile hydraulic screen technology.

The 4000ft² screen will be boosted by 32 speaker digital surround sound, and there will be pre-movie entertainment and a range of catering options.

Swiss OpenAir Concept CEO Farzin Samadian said: "People across the globe, from Switzerland to South Korea and Australia to Brazil, have warmed up to our concept of open-air cinema, and we can't wait to give the movie-loving people of the UAE a show beyond comparison".

A range of films are on offer as part of the schedule, including RocknRolla for the Action-themed Night, Surprise Night for Bollywood Night and Genghis Khan for Asian Night.

Sponsor Hydra Properties CEO Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim said: "As this will be the first time that the UAE has witnessed a cinema event of this magnitude, we wanted to ensure that no-one among the movie-loving populace of the UAE feels left out or hard done, and have selected nothing but the best.

"More than 2000 people are expected to attend each event and we want to give them something they will never forget, so everything from the quality of movies being screened, the location chosen, the audio-visual experience and the festive atmosphere at the event has been carefully co-ordinated," added Al Fahim.

Screenings will take place daily in Dubai from November 10 to 21 and the OpenAir Cinema will then move to Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi for more screenings from December 1 to 12.
