Orbit goes cartoon crazy

Cartoon Network to launch on Middle Eastern digital satellite platform.

Orbit has announced the launch of Cartoon Network on its digital satellite Pay TV platform.Cartoon Network draws from its library of over 10,000 cartoons with 500 well-known characters from Hanna-Barbera, Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network Studios. It is home to legendary characters such as Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry and The Flintstones as well as a whole new generation of top toon stars including The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken and Dexter’s Laboratory. “The launch of Cartoon Network, the latest addition to our multi-channel bouquet, amply demonstrates our determination to keep on offering Orbit’s viewers the highest quality television content for children and young-at-heart cartoon fans,” says Johnny Malek, Orbit’s vice-president marketing.“The capture of Cartoon Network for our viewers is certainly a significant and globally recognized entertainment trophy to add to the Orbit showcase,” added Ricky Ghai, Orbit’s Executive Vice President Programming.
