OSN says TV network back on track after fire

Dubai-based network says business as usual after fire at station headquarters on Sunday

OSN says TV network back on track after fire

Dubai-based
television station Orbit Showtime Network said Monday all suspended TV channels
had been restored after a small fire affected broadcasting the previous day.

Around
75 television channels were temporarily suspended on Sunday following a fire
and a subsequent power shortage at the broadcast centre in Dubai’s Media City.

All services
have since been resumed said the network, which apologised for the disruption.

“OSN
wishes to advise all customers and business partners that following disruptions
to services over the last 24 hours, broadcast and operations are back to
business as usual,” it said in an emailed statement.

Around
44 channels, including Sky News, MTV and Discovery Channel, as well as all
free-to-air channels were unaffected by the power shortage.

No
employees were injured during the fire.
