PalmOne silver lines Zire72

PalmOne has launched a new Silver Edition of its multimedia Zire 72 handheld called the Zire 72s. Like its predecessor the Zire 72, the new US$285 silver version sports a 1.2-megapixel built-in digital camera, an MP3 player and audio/video capture on a 320 x 320 colour screen.

PalmOne has launched a new Silver Edition of its multimedia Zire 72 handheld – called the Zire 72s.

The handheld company claims gold is out this year and silver is the latest trend. Recently in Europe and America, silver has become a popular colour choice for cars, fashion and interior design, as it is perceived to be the colour associated with style. With the growth in popularity of silver goods and in time for the holidays, PalmOne has released a silver version of Zire 72, launched earlier this year in blue.

Two years ago, PalmOne introduced its Zire consumer range of handhelds as an addition to its other products, which include the Tungsten handhelds and Treo smart phones, software and accessories.

Like the blue Zire 72, the new silver version features a 1.2-megapixel built-in digital camera, an MP3 player and audio/video capture on a 320 x 320 colour screen.

“Silver is stylish, clean and modern and is perceived as a premium colour. Following demand from users, we are delighted to offer the multimedia Zire 72 handheld in silver, in time for those seeking a smart-looking present over the holidays,” says Francois Bornibus, vice president, PalmOne, Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA).

The Palm operating system powered Zire 72s enables users to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel compatible files, whilst Bluetooth wireless technology makes it easy to share files and access e-mail and the Internet.

With a recommended retail price of approximately US$285 (1050 AED) the Zire 72s is available now at selected retailers across the Middle East.
