Arab Advisors Group study says news channels charge highest rates for 30-second slot
New research from the Arab Advisors Group reveals that free to air (FTA) satellite TV ad rates average out at about $3,300 for a 30-second slot at peak times.
The ad rates were found to be highest during night time between 9-10pm, the analysis of 38 FTA satellite TV channels in the Arab World showed.
The FTA satellite TV peak average ad rate increased from $3,125 in 2011 to $3,299 in 2012, a growth of 5.6 percent.
Arab Advisors research and analysis revealed that News and Current Affairs channels had the highest average advertising rates amongst FTA satellite TV channels in the Arab World.
The peak average advertising rates of these channels reached $5,460 between 9-10pm, the research added.
Of the 38 analysed FTA satellite TV channels, MBC Group's Arabic language General channel - MBC1 - has the highest average advertising rate.
The three music channels - Mazzika, Melody Hits and Zoom - have the lowest average advertising rates," added Noura Abdulhadi, Arab Advisors project manager.
