Petrotech unveils first ever supermarket-type facility for oil and gas sector

Parker’s product range expands East, serving the oil and gas sector from its new Sharjah facility.

Petrotech, supplier of engineering products to the oil and gas sector, will open the region's first supermarket-type facility in the UAE. Based in Sharjah, the facility will distribute Parker tools. It will also allow clients to custom design Parker products according to their specifications.

"We will be keeping the complete range of Parker products in one place," said Harsh Sharma, Petrotech's export manager. "This facility will also provide testing and calibration laboratories, which means if a product is not available, we can usually create it using what we have in store."

The venture, comprising two large warehouses, will create jobs for skilled and technical staff. Half have already been recruited. Petrotech will also export Parker products to neighbouring countries.

"Sharjah is an ideal location because it is the central hub between Dubai and the northern emirates," added Sharma. "If we had set up in Dubai, we would be less accessible for our customers in Ajman and Fujairah. From here, we can serve all the emirates.

"Petrotech serves the oil and gas and process industries, but because of where we are based in the gulf, we will mainly deal with the oil and gas sector, selling to refineries in particular."
