10 romantic restaurants to try in Dubai
Whether you prefer candle-lit dinners or concept dining, here are some of the city’s best spots for you and your date
We might be spoiled for choice when it comes to restaurants in Dubai. But it might be more difficult to pin-point the ones with romantic settings. To make your life easier, we did the work for you. Here are 10 romantic venues to take your date this weekend. Novikov: The wooden interiors and red lighting of Novikov make for a romantic evening out. The Japanese restaurant is the brainchild of Russian restauranteur Arkady Novikov, famous for cooking for Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is located in Grand Sheraton Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. Rang Mahal: Often listed as one of Dubai’s most romantic restaurants, Rang Mahal serves a classic Indian menu by Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. It also has an exotic red-lit dining area and intimate lounge seating. Rang Mahal is situated in JW Marriot Marquis on Sheikh Zayed Road. La Petite Maison: You can easily mistake yourself for being in the south of France while sitting in this French restaurant in DIFC. La Petite Maison is perfect for a candle lit dinner with your other half if a classically designed venue is what you’re looking for. Hakkasan: We’ve had a few of the most delicious Japanese dishes we’ve ever had in this venue in this venue at Emirates Towers. Besides the excellent food – and service – Hakkasan is designed in dark wood, low lighting, and intimate seating. It’s definitely a place to take to impress your date. Coya: This restaurant’s pictures don’t do it justice. You have to head down to experience the Latin American vibe. And if your idea of romance is a lively atmosphere, we highly recommend you take your date there. The food at this prestigious venue in the Four Seasons hotel in Jumeirah is creative, modern and simply mouth-watering. Buddha Bar: An all-time favourite for couples, Buddha Bar is filled with grand red and gold chandeliers hanging from the venue’s high ceiling. And don’t even get us started on the exclusive romantic music the joint plays. Besides a fulfilling menu, the Grosvenor House Hotel restaurant offers visitors views of the Dubai Marina. La Parrilla: Latin American venues are among the best locations for a romantic night out, especially if you’re heading to La Parrilla in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The restaurant has an authentic Latin American meat-filled menu, live entertainment and stunning views of the Arabian Gulf and Burj Al Arab. Vesna: One of the few luxury Slavic restaurants in Dubai, Vesna is worth the visit. Have a taste of signature Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian dishes while being surrounded by modern and traditional live entertainment. Vesna is designed with plush furniture, large chandeliers and stone walls – Russian style. Vesna is located in the Conrad Hotel. Vivaldi: A must-try if you’re as obsessed with views as we are. Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo features floor to ceiling windows over the Dubai Creek and city skylines. The restaurant’s Italian menu doesn’t disappoint either. This one is located in the Sheraton Creek Hotel. Noire: If your idea of romance is more on the adventurous side, try dining in the dark at Noire concept restaurant in the Fairmont on Sheikh Zayed Road. The restaurant offers an hour-and-a-half of dining in a pitch black setting with night vision goggles for assistance. Talk about a date you won't forget.
