A look inside Qatar's 'mall for millionaires'
The $825 million Al Hazm Mall is expected to open by end of this year
We take a look inside the $825 million ‘mall for millionaires’ in Qatar, home to 50,000 of the world’s millionaires. AlHazm mall, dubbed the ‘mall for millionaires,’ was created to tend to the luxury wants of wealthy Qataris, of whom 50,000 are millionaires. The mall is located in Al Markhiya in Doha alongside a luxury residential area. It consists of two floors dedicated to bespoke luxury services including high-end retail and dining as well as a cultural centre. Designed with Italian-architecture in mind, it features Tuscan marble flooring, landscaped gardens, large domes, high arches, and water features. The mall is the work of local developer Al Emadi Enterprises and is estimated to have cost $825 million (QR3 billion) to build. AlHazm is set to open by the end of 2016. According to Al Emadi, it is “designed for connoisseurs, those who appreciate the finer things in life. [It] offers the world’s most exclusive brands and contemporary luxuries in a fashionably refined setting”. The firm describes the project as an "environment of classical European style in the heart of modern Arabia".
