Buddhist monks have cleaned the dust off the 15-meter-high Great Buddha at the Todaiji Temple in Nura, Japan. About 100 monks took part in the procedure in preparation for the Buddhist festive period of Bon, when Japanese Buddhists honour and welcome the spirit of ancestors.
