Artist smashes $1m vase in protest

A Miami artist has smashed an Ai Weiwei vase worth $1m as a protest against the lack of support for local artists. The Weiwei exhibition at the Perez Art Museum Miami features some of the Chinese artists best known works, but one of the items was destroyed by a local artists apparently in protest against the number of Miami artists exhibited at the venue. He now faces criminal charges.
