Audemars Piguet reveals 2016 collection
Stars and Heroes 2016 entails diamond-encrusted bracelet watches and reinvented Royal Oaks
Luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, Audemars Piguet, reveals some of its latest timepieces. And they’re nothing short of impressive. Diamond Fury:
\nSimilar to the brand’s 2015 Diamond Punk piece, Diamond Fury comprises of 4,635 brilliant-cut diamonds and 18 carat white gold. Though it resembles a bracelet, it bears a hidden panel which, when touched, reveals a simple dial. The watch’s movement is Quartz with a 2601 calibre.
Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie:
\nAccording to Piguet, the Supersonnerie is its most sonically-considered concept yet. A minute repeater wristwatch, it houses the “harmonic tone” of traditional pocket-watches. Design-wise, it’s made of a super-light titanium case, black ceramic, and white gold.
Royal Oak Yellow Gold Perpetual Calendar:
\nThe new collection of Royal Oak bears this yellow gold number with the day, date, month, astronomical moon, week of the year, and leap year indication displayed on its new, lighter-blue dial. The 18-carat yellow gold watch houses a larger calibre, 5134, than its predecessors.
Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked:
\nThe balance wheel, which determines the precision of a mechanical watch’s movement, is challenging to maintain over time. To tackle the issue, Piguet added a second balance wheel to this watch to improve precision. But its most striking feature is definitely its open-worked movement.
