Beauty trends to try this autumn and winter
Beauty experts from leading UAE salon Tips & Toes share their top looks
With Paris Fashion Week having just ended, we take a look at the top autumn and winter beauty trends to try with the help of leading UAE-based salon chain Tips & Toes operations manager Nawal Jarges. From retro hairstyles to glittery eyelids, here are our top favorite looks: Glittery eyelids: Go glam or go home – that was the message catwalk kings Oscar De La Renta and Kenzo projected on this year’s runway shows as their models showcased glamorous glittery eyeshadow. For a subtle look, we recommend sticking to earthy hues such as gold. Retro hair: Has retro hair ever really gone out of style? It doesn’t matter anyhow, because major designers such as Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs are sporting the retro-inspired look on their runways. The key to this look is smooth, frizz-free locks, according to Jarges. Bleached brows: This doesn’t sound like the most appealing trend, but designers such as Dsquared2 and Givenchy are making bleached brows a runway staple. According to Jarges, bleached brows help highlight facial features. Dark lip: Dark shades such as plum, maroon and even black grazed the runways of designers such as Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. While we’re not fans of a black lip, plum and maroon shades have always been on our fall and winter beauty trend list. Nail art: Designers such as Phillip Lim and Taoray Wang were united in their love of nail art for autumn and winter 2017 runways. Nail art trends included autumn hues colour block and simple lines, but Tips & Toes offers a variety of nail art designs as well as customisation options that you could try out. Crimped hair: It might have been frowned upon as an outdated hairstyle from the 80’s, but crimped hair is back bigger than ever. Jarges recommends following in the footsteps of Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Manish Arora and pumping up the volume for fall. Bare and fresh faced: Forget contouring, this fall and winter, try a bare and fresh faced look. Ditch the bronzers and opt for soft blushes and highlighters to help you achieve an 'au naturel' look and a glowing complexion. That’s what Balmain, Valentino and Isabel Marant did. Metallic nails: Top model Gigi Hadid was one of the first to sport metallic nails. Tips & Toes offer an array of in-house shades that vary from concentrated silver tones to soft gold hues. Designers such as Jill Stuart and Roland Mouret also embraced the trend.
