Further plans to build hotels and homes on the site have been put on hold until a decision has been made on the building of an offshore wind farm nearby. Environmental campaigners have opposed the construction of the course on protected sand dunes while Trump has complained about a potential offshore windfarm being built near the site. Trump said he hopes to have built "perhaps the greatest golf course in the world." Trump and his children teed off with former Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie (pictured). The links course is already tipped to host a future Scottish Open.
