Here are the watches you need this summer
Satin bracelets and diamond-encrusted dials are trending
We might not be watchmakers and we might not know much about horology, but we do know this: watches are essential accessories for men and women. Have a look at these top 10 choices we recommend this summer. 1. Swiss luxury watchmaker Raymond Weil launched the Maestro Beatles limited edition watch inspired by - you've guessed it - the Beatles. With only 3,000 pieces made, the watch is based on the brand’s signature Maestro creation and retails for around $1,280. We love the simple, all-silver look. 2. Can Chanel do anything wrong? The brand released this Premiere Pearl Triple Row watch in 18 carat white gold and over 300 diamonds and almost 200 Akoya cultured pearls. This beauty can be worn on the wrist or a sautoir necklace. 3. You can always count on Burberry for a classic watch. The brand recently launched this Britain Icon Check featuring a 45mm, DLC-coated, blackened titanium case – which looks super sleek and masculine yet retains a traditional vibe - as well as a ruthenium-plated, lattice-work dial. Sale price? $15,660. 4. How feminine and soft is this La D De Dior Satine timepiece? The latter is ironic given the watch was inspired by ‘a woman who borrows her man’s watch so that she always thinks about him…” But that was in 2003. The 70’s-inspired creation uses gold and diamonds. We personally love the silky appearance of the mesh bracelet as well as the mother-of-pearl dial. 5. Is it just us or are limited edition watches the best? This one by Baume & Mercier was inspired by the Shelby Cobra and celebrates 50 years since the carmaker became the first American brand to win the World Manufacturer’s GT Championship. The watch features elements such as the snake’s head second hand and striped dial. It comes in steel for almost $4,000 and red gold for $17,500. 6. There’s just something special about De Grisogono watches, and the Allegra watch is no exception. Designed with pink gold and white diamonds (including the brand’s signature snow-set diamonds), the watch also boasts white leather and 3 pink gold cords set with diamonds. We didn’t forget the black diamond on the crown – black diamonds are another signature De Grisogono element. 7. This is our favourite piece on the list. It’s Graff, can you blame us? The MasterGraff Structural Tourbillon Skeleton comes in two versions, both more beautiful than the other but completely different. One is a gem-set version with 423 diamonds and 13 emeralds and the other is a plain case finished in either black or brown DLC or black titanium. Sold! 8. Mesh bracelets with silky appearances are trending big time this summer for watch brands around the world. And Piaget is following through with this Piaget Oval-shaped traditional watch. It boasts 18 carat pink gold and 24 brilliant-cut diamonds. The bracelet is 18-carat pink gold. 9. H. Moser & Cie is one of our top recommended brands for men because it has an original feel to it. The firm insists on keeping away from branding and has as little of it as possible on its products. This summer, our preference from its collection is the Endeavour Tourbillon that features a hidden time zone. 10. Bulgari signifies luxury, at least for us. The brand really gets creative when it comes to their watches, and the same is true for their most recent creation – the Serpenti Incantati. It features an18 karat pink gold case set with brilliant-cut diamonds and rubies as well as a snow-pave diamond dial. It also boasts a satin strap with 18-carat pink gold buckle set with diamonds – we told you the satin, silky look was in.
