A look at what some hotels and venues will be offering during Ramadan
Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi
\nAt Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, Sofra bld will offer guests a spread of traditional Middle Eastern specialties in the Grand Iftar buffet, with chefs demonstrating their expertise at the live cooking stations. The buffet is priced at AED205+ per person, including Ramadan beverages, and available from sunset onwards.
3in1, Vida Downtown Dubai
\nThe Iftar spread at 3in1 include an extensive line-up of international and Arabic dishes, such as cold vine leaves, fatoush, and wakame salad, among others, in addition to a dessert set-up featuring traditional and contemporary favorites. Guests will be able to begin their Iftar with hot mezzeh, while a selection of main courses such as mix grill, chicken molokeya and daud pasha are served to share. Visitors will be able to choose to sit indoors or on the terrace and enjoy entertainment from the venue’s oriental band following their dining experience. Price: AED 170 per person
The Atrium, Grand Millennium Dubai
\nThe restaurant’s Iftar menu will include a variety of soups, appetisers, Arabic main courses and live cooking stations. There will also be traditional Arabic deserts as well as a Ramadan drinks corner. The Iftar will be priced at AED145 per person; children between the ages of 8 and 12 will get 50% off and children under the age of 8 will dine for free (Maximum two per family).
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers
\nA buffet Iftar at the Layali Al Barak venue will provide regional and traditional food, live cooking stations, seafood grills and Saj stations, against a backdrop of live Oud performances. This will take place under the sparkling Czech crystals of the Oculus art installation on Level P4 and will be priced at AED175 per person. Meanwhile, Iftar at Rosewater will offer guests authentic Arabian traditions and flavours including freshly prepared oceanic fare and grills. This will be priced at AED185 per person and bookings made prior to June 15 will benefit from a 10% discount. A special overnight package including complimentary Iftar, Suhoor and transportation to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has also been created.
House of Curry
\nThe newly-opened restaurant’s special Iftar menu will include tandoor grilled kebabs, samosas and pakoras as well as an array of curries including butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo. There will also be authentic vegetarian and seafood options, as well as several traditional biryanis. The Iftar menu will be available at the Downtown House of Curry restaurant on The Boulevard, as well as the flagship restaurant with on The Beach, JBR.
Kris Restaurant, Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai
\nDuring the Holy Month of Ramadan, the hotel will offer a special Iftar service combining Arabic specialties and the best of pan-Asian cuisine. It will take place at the Kris Restaurant on the 19th floor, meaning diners can also take in some views of Dubai. The spread will cost AED130 per person and there is a 20% discount on bookings made before June 15.
La Porte des Indes, The Address Dubai Mall
\nThe Downtown Dubai fine dining restaurant’s special menu for Ramadan will feature an array of Iftar favourites such as murgh ke pakode and roasted chilli seekh kebab, followed by substantial mains such as kari de mouton or a signature Ramadan dish, the Hyderabadi ghosht biryani. To ensure diners end on a sweet note, La Porte des Indes will be serving their most popular desserts such as the Belgian Dark Chocolate Mousse and the Pistachio Kulfi. The dishes during Ramadan will be more substantial in volume than compared to the restaurant’s usual a la carte dishes and the menu will be priced from AED125 for two courses to AED195 for five courses.
Celsius Restaurant, Radisson Royal Hotel Dubai
\nFor AED155 per person, Celsius Restaurant at the Radisson Royal Hotel Dubai will aim to offer authentic Arabic food and mezzas, Ramadan drinks and a selection of fine dates. The restaurant is offering a ‘book for 10 and pay for 8’ promotion and children below the age of five years old eat free and children who are from six to 12 years old get a 50% discount.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House
\nRuth’s Chris Steak House has developed a bespoke three-course set menu, filled with signature classics, for the holy month of Ramadan. Items on the menu include spicy Voodoo Shrimp and the succulent Petite Filet with Garlic Mash Potato. To finish it off is the option of its signature dessert, the Petite Crème Brulee, topped with fresh berries and complimentary tea and coffee. Price: AED 289 per person
Sapori di BiCE
\nThe Jumeirah Citywalk restaurant will be serving a rotating Iftar menu for this Ramadan. Chef Marcello Rivetti has specially crafted a dedicated menu for the Holy Month, carefully incorporating the restaurant’s authentic Italian offerings with traditional Ramadan delicacies. The Iftar buffet will feature twelve dishes including Iftar favourties such as fattoush and halloumi cheese salad for starters. Signature main dishes will rotate on a weekly basis, in addition to unique dessert offerings including cinnamon and date panna cotta, camel cheese cake with pistachio or saffron rice and rose water pudding.
