\n\nGet a monster burger treat at this NYC import down at the Madinat. Pillow-soft potato buns give way to perfectly cooked, juicy meat, and the special sauce – a kind of spicy thousand island – is just that. Unless you’re fanatical about fries, opt for the onion rings – thick allium hoops so fresh and delicately battered we’re on the verge of declaring them one of our five a day.
\n\nBlack Tap’s burgers might not stand as tall as they’ve been teased to, but as for whether they’re any good – the proof is in the fact that you almost certainly won’t have room for pudding.
\n\nPrices vary. Open daily 11am-12.30am. Jumeriah Al Naseem, Madinat Jumeirah (04 422 9904).

\n\nBefore we start, no it doesn’t taste anything like chicken. It’s actually a bit more like lamb. The idea of chomping camel meat may seem like a culinary step too far for some, but this lean, tender and tasty grilled loin won’t give you the hump. Topped with New York Sauce, loaded with cheese and placed on a soft brioche bun, the camel burger is a flavoursome alternative for adventurous diners.

The Black Lion
\n\nWhere once we’d spend an eternity staring at the menu mulling over what to eat. Drawing up a list of pros and cons should be a thing of the past when tossing up between to classic dishes. Roast dinner, or burger?
\n\nNo longer is this an issue, thanks to The Black Lion – the East London-themed pub up at The H Dubai.
\n\nThe burger consists of succulent rare roast beef, veal bacon, cauliflower cheese fritter, crispy kale and fresh focaccia made with crispy roast potatoes – topped off with a side of horseradish sauce, bone marrow gravy, roast carrots and parsnips. Could it get any better?
\n\nFrom Dhs65, The Black Lion, The H Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road. (04 359 2366).
