In pictures: Inside the futuristic Dubai hotel designed by Zaha Hadid
It takes something really special for a building to stand out in a city like Dubai
The Opus by mega developer Omniyat has that uniqueness, so different from the ‘skyline crowd’ that the renderings of the project look like photos from the set of a blockbuster sci-fi film. Designed entirely by highly-acclaimed super architect Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid, who passed away in March of this year, the building will be testament to her genius. Other state-of-the-art facilities include a temperature-controlled swimming pool, a world-class spa, a ballroom and an ultramodern gym. Every resident of The Opus, whether temporary or permanent, will be able to benefit from a ‘lifestyle concierge’ who will deliver à la carte and pre-selected services to their doorsteps. The Opus, located in Business Bay, will encompass a collection of ultra-luxurious residences and the newest Middle East Hotel. Both exteriors and interiors have been stylishly designed in Hadid’s signature futuristic way. According to Hotelier Middle East, the project is set for completion by 2017. From the outside it will look like “a single cube eroded by a free-form void”, as Omniyat puts it. Make sure you scroll through the photo gallery we have above to understand what we mean. It’s going to be out of this world!
