Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed launches Area 2071 at Emirates Towers to encourage young national leaders to lead national institutions, as well as design and create innovative opportunities for the future.
Area 2071 will deliver a new way of working, where creative individuals, disruptive start-ups, government accelerators, corporate X-Labs and innovation units, venture capitalists, designers and research & development (R&D) institutions will gather to solve the world’s greatest questions and co-create radical and breakthrough solutions to advance humanity, aided by the latest advances in technology. Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks came during the launch of ‘Area 2071,’ a melting point where innovative ideas and solutions are translated into reality. (Image: sheikhmohammed.ae) His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, the Chairman of the Executive Office (TEO) of His Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid today has appointed Abdulaziz Khalid Al Jaziri as Director of Area 2071. (Image: mediaoffice.ae) The UAE Centennial 2071 plan is based on a lecture given by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in which he set outlines for the future of the UAE.
