Lit lovers mark Bard’s 450th birthday

Fans of William Shakespeare have marked the Bard’s 450th birthday with a series of literary and theatrical events. Excerpts from his plays and poems were read in cities as remote from one another as London and New York, while the Royal Shakespeare Company rehearsed a new touring production of Hamlet at the Globe Theatre in London.
