The best suits at the Golden Globes
For once, it’s not all about the ladies
The limelight is always on the ladies when it comes to red carpet happenings. But for this year’s Golden Globes, we’re steering all the attention on the men – and their suits. From Steve Carrell’s tux to The Rock’s velvet number, here are the Globes’ best suits. 1. And he’s still got it. Number one goes to Sylvester Stallone, because he’s 69 years old and still looks sleeker than most of the men on the carpet. Stallone won his first ever Golden Globe for his performance as Rocky Balboa in Creed. 2. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson steered away from a traditional tux and opted for a somewhat flashy velvet blazer instead. The star took his daughter, Simone Johnson, as his date to the Globes. 3. Kevin Hart might not be the tallest actor, but he makes up for it with unique style. We like the olive shade he chose for his blazer. 4. David Oyelowo, mostly known for his role in historical drama film, The Butler, sported a metallic, purple checker suit on the red carpet. And he pulled it off – big time. 5. Paul Dano might not look so macho, but he’s got a lot of style to him. He’s wearing a Prada Tuxedo, Tod’s shoes, and Piaget timepiece. 6. Empire actor, Terrence Howard, went for a brown number that stood out against the usual black tuxes at the event. What we liked best about his look? His shades. 7. Peter Facinelli’s fiancé might have worn an eye-catching emerald gown to the Globes, but it was he who caught our eye in the all-black, sharp ensemble. 8. Jason Statham, like Dwayne Johnson, went for a velour blazer for this year’s happening. But we can’t decide who looks better, him or model fiancé Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. 9. Steve Carell: Comedian and director Steve Carell gave his look a funky vibe with thick framed glasses. He still looked sharp nonetheless – was it style tips from c-star Ryan Gosling or Carell’s hidden flair? 10. Sam Heughan’s suit fit like a glove. The actor, best known for his role in the Outlander series, paired black and navy blue – a faux pas for many - and actually made it work.
