From Pearl Valley to Pezula, some of the top homes and properties currently on the market
Along with London, South Africa (SA) has become a tourist attraction for many in the Middle East. Prominent businessmen from the region are also seeing it as a business opportunity, with local brands like Caramel and Mo’s opening branches in SA. In light of that, Arabian Business lists South Africa’s top 10 residential properties, according to global research company New World Wealth. 1. Pearl Valley: $417,447 to $2 million
\nThis estate includes a golf course, mountain backdrops, and several lakes. Interestingly, it also has 120 bird species, including the African Fish Eagle and Malachite Kingfisher.
2. Zimbali: $417,447 to $4.1 million
\nThis 700 hectare estate is located beside Balito and is 45kms north of Durban. In addition, it’s considered as one of SA’s most luxurious areas on the east coast of the country.
3. Fancourt: $250,468 to $3.7 million
\nApart from its three large golf courses, Fancourt’s residential estates include Links Ridge and Oakland’s Village. And while its two original golf courses, the Montagu and the Outeniqua, were built in the early 90s, the globally-known Fancourt Links was built in 2000.
4. Arabella: $250,468 to $834,895
\nLocated on the Bot River Lagoon, Arabella features several lakes and fynbos wild zones. However, the estate has only 236 houses.
5. Pezula: $417,447 to $2.5million
\nPezula Golf Estate is located on the south coast of SA. It differs from the other estates in that it has Sparrebos, a 45-hectare forest with many animal and bird species. Pezula Golf Estate is situated in Pezula Private Estate, which is more expensive than nearby properties due to the houses being larger in size.
6. Atlantic Beach: $166,979 to $1.2 million
\nSometimes called the “hidden gem” of SA, this estate is set between Blouberg and Melkbostrand in Cape Town. Interestingly, Atlantic Beach operates as a wildlife sanctuary, with wild animals, like the antelope, living on the property.
7. De Zalze: $417,447 to $1.6 million
\nLocated in Stellenbosch, De Zalze is near to Cape Town. It’s a 300 hectare estate which also functions as a farm, featuring 120 hectares of vineyards, citrus orchards and olive groves.
8. Vaal de Grace: $166,979 to $417,447
\nA newly built estate, Vaal de Grace is situated on the banks of the Vaal River. Its golf course was designed by Zimbabwean golfer Nick Price. Compared to the other properties on the list, Vaal de Grace is the most humbly priced.
9. Erinvale: $584,426 to $2.5 million
\nThis estate was finished in the mid-90s. Along with Bishopscourt and Constantia, it’s considered to be among the most luxurious inland residential properties. Unlike the houses built on the newer estates, the ones at Erinvale differ from one another in terms of design, size and color.
10. Highland Gate: $166,979 to $834,895
\nThis newly built estate is located in the Steenkampsberg mountain range near Dullstroom. Along with an Ernie Els designed golf course, it features fly fishing and hiking trails.
