Top picks from the Italian Luxury Interiors show in Dubai
Chairs made out of rose petals and bed sets made with mink fur
Because Italy has become the second largest supplier of furniture to the UAE, the Italian Trade Agency last week showcased a series of design elements in Dubai. In the list below, we choose the top picks including some by renowned names Maison Claire and Made a Mano. This ‘Muchas Rosas’ chair was created with 950 recycled-felt roses and a washable covet body of wood. Talk about an eco-friendly, organic piece. Designer: 13 Ricea. We love this double-face hanging mirror because it gives the illusion of space and richness. It’s great for both the outdoors and indoors. Designer: Barbara Calvo Design. ‘Futuristic’ is the best way to describe this steel and leather chair inspired by the perfection of the square for maximum comfort. The lamp is simply steel and made with an LED lightning system. Designer: Bongio. This ‘Franklin’ collection consists of fixed and modular in-line and corner sofas enhanced by foot stools. Designer: Borzalino. This composition, titled ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ consists of seven bricks adjustable on the wall as desired. They create an alternative to the strictness of classical bookcases. Designer: Mabele. This handmade lamp is simple and contemporary, but is characterized by an edgy look. Designer: Made A Mano. We don’t think there’s a sheet softer to lay on than one made of mink fur. This bed set includes fur, cashmere and satin – talk about luxury. Designer: Maison Claire. The three bright chairs are comfortable and practical design pieces. They can be folded and put into their bags which also happen to be the headrests. They also contain wood and aluminum details. Designer: Manifesto Design. Our favorite piece on the list is this bench with a central marble base used for balance. Designer: Vetrogiardini.
