Where to find the best steaks in Dubai
From hidden gems to Michelin-star venues, here are choices that will not fail you
In Dubai, it seems like every day other day a new steakhouse pops up. But from our decades of living in the city, we’ve got a clear sense of the best places to go for a good steak. Here are a couple of new restaurants mixed with a few old gems that old Dubaians will surely recognise. 1. Marina Social: Leave it to a Michelin-starred chef to make you the best steak in town. Chef Jason Atherton launched his Dubai restaurant and lounge Marina Social, where his team will make you a meal you will never forget - all while you enjoy views of the Dubai Marina through floor to cieling windows. 2. Meat & Co.: Dubai is oversaturated with steakhouses, but the Meat & Co. is one favourite we will never forget. Situated in Madinat Jumeirah, the steakhouse has a wide variety of meat selections which are equally delicious. We love that it has an outdoor terrace overlooking the water and the Burj Arab. The restaurant also serves complimentary bread baked in-house with beetroot and chocolate chips. Sounds unconventional? It is, but it’s extremely tasty too. 3. Tribes: You might have heard the sounds of African drums coming from this joint in Mall of the Emirates, but it’s known for much more than its music and lively atmosphere. It serves great steaks. We love the Wagyu ones the most, but anything you pick off the menu is bound to impress you. 4. Icon Bar & Lounge: Who would have guessed that this humble bar in Radisson Blu Media City has one of the best steaks in Dubai? If you don’t believe us, try it for yourself. Because it’s a casual venue, we recommend visiting Icon during the week for a wicked lunch meal. 5. Asado: Argentinean meat cuts with a side of Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain? Yes please. Located in The Palace downtown Dubai, Asado is by far one of the best meat-serving restaurants in the city and beyond. It’s also extremely romantic as it overlooks the Burj and its lake. Date night? Asado without a doubt. 6. Malecon: If there’s one hidden gem that you must try for a killer steak, it’s Malecon in Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa. The Cuban joint was the “it" place to be a few years back. And while it’s located in the slightly older part of Dubai, it’s worth visiting for great Latin American cuisine and live entertainment. 7. Chamas: If you haven’t tried this restaurant and bar, you are missing out. A Brazilian outlet in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, it serves 18 different types of meat and has a great live band and Brazilian dancers. Need we continue? Make sure you try its complimentary cheese bread - you won’t regret it.
