A UAE Air Force plane crashed in Ras Al Khaimah during a
routine training mission, killing the pilot, officials have announced.

The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces said the Hawk
military trainer aircraft crashed on Monday, the official news agency WAM
reports.

Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the
cause of the accident.

The UAE is believed to own more than 30 British-made Hawk
airplanes.
