Pilot tucked in by SAP

Enterprise software vendor SAP has acquired strategy management solutions provider Pilot Software.

Enterprise software vendor SAP has acquired strategy management solutions provider Pilot Software.

SAP described the deal as a "tuck-in" acquisition that added a critical piece to its portfolio of analytic applications.

Pilot provides strategy management solutions to around 150 customers worldwide across industries such as financial services, the public sector, and retail.

Its flagship product, PilotWorks, will be integrated with SAP applications and built on the SAP NetWeaver platform.

"Analytic applications that help organisations manage their performance effectively represent a strategic area of investment for SAP as we continue to expand our leadership in this market," said Doug Merritt, executive vice president and general manager of Suite Optimisation at SAP.

The vendor said Pilot employees would become part of SAP Labs. The deal was completed on February 14 and terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
