Hotel operator Kerzner International Holdings Limited said on Monday it has entered into an agreement to develop and operate a new One&Only resort in Bahrain.

Kerzner said it is linking up with Sevens Holding on the luxury resort in Seef which is scheduled to begin welcoming guests in 2016.

The resort will feature approximately 150 guest rooms and suites as well as villas and estates, world-class dining and retail options, plus a One&Only Spa, a statement said.

The property will be located in Seef, on the northwestern coast of Bahrain, and will command a private beachfront, the statement added.

"I am thrilled we are able to partner with Sevens Holding to develop this world-class destination. More and more visitors are discovering Bahrain for both leisure and business and I am looking forward to introducing the resort to our loyal One&Only guests and new guests alike," said Alan Leibman, CEO, Kerzner International.

"The beachfront location is remarkable and I am very confident that the resort will define ultra-luxury in Bahrain."

The One&Only brand currently operates at Reethi Rah in the Maldives; One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius; One&Only Royal Mirage and One&Only The Palm in Dubai; One&Only Ocean Club in The Bahamas; One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico; One&Only Cape Town in South Africa and One&Only Hayman Island on The Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

One&Only has also announced plans to develop a resort in Sanya, China, as well as One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro, the first property for the collection in Europe.
