Dubai Properties Group's CEO says more projects will be announced in the near future
Dubai Properties Group (DPG) has announced that plans are underway for a Beach Club development at its flagship destination, The Walk at JBR.
The developer, a member of Dubai Holding, and the master developer of Business Bay, Dubailand and JBR, confirmed in a statement that the appointment of an architect is "in the final stages".
The Walk at JBR, an entertainment and shopping destination, welcomed over 10 million visitors in 2012 alone.
The JBR beach club is one of the first in a series of new developments planned by DPG which added that it will be making further announcements on additional projects for The Walk in the near future.
Speaking about DPG's plans for The Walk at JBR, Khalid Al Malik, group CEO of DPG, said: "We always look for further opportunities to enhance our destinations and communities.
"The JBR beach club will further add to the quality of living that residents currently have, offering them additional services and leisure facilities."
In May, DPG has unveiled plans to revamp JBR’s popular ‘The Walk’ retail and hospitality venue, including installing escalators to entice visitors up to the plaza level and a new hotel and beach club along the beachfront.
As part of the enhancements, ‘The Walk’ street level will be installed with improved “streetscaping” and escalators will be added to entice more visitors to visit the stores and outlets on the plaza level.
In addition, DPG also announced plans for a new boutique hotel and beach club located between the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and the newly constructed Al Fattan Crystal Towers. For all the latest real estate news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
Nowhere does it say that the new Beach Club will offer free access to residents of JBR, or is that merely an accidental oversight?
That was part of the original purchase deal was it not, or am I misguided?
