The anonymous founders of the Shiba Inu cryptocurrency announced their intention to hand over control to the community by the end of the year in an interview on the AB Majlis podcast.
This comes as part of their vision for true decentralisation in the crypto space.
Shytoshi Kusama, one of the key figures behind the popular meme coin, stated.
“At the end of this year, we will hand everything over to the community, and we step away,” Shytoshi Kusama, one of the key figures behind the popular meme coin, revealed.
This move, according to Kusama, is not about abandoning the project but rather about “empowering the community even more than they already have.”
The founders, who appeared masked and with modulated voices to maintain their anonymity, emphasised that their stepping back is part of the grand vision laid out by the mysterious creator known as Ryoshi.
Kaal Dhairya, another prominent figure in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, said: “We are normal community members. We started off by buying tokens off the exchanges like everyone else. And we just took the experiment and the vision that was laid out by Ryoshi to its completion.”
Despite their impending departure from leadership roles, both Kusama and Dhairya stressed the importance of their continued anonymity. Dhairya referred to it as a “superpower.”
“That is the way that we can blend in with the community and get their input when we need to, and we can just get the true honest feedback when we need to,” he said.
Kusama echoed this sentiment, adding, “We do not want to be associated with the genius of Shib. The genius of Shib is the power of the community.”
This announcement comes at a pivotal time for Shiba Inu, as the community-driven project continues to gain traction in the cryptocurrency world. The founders’ decision to step back could mark a new era for the meme coin, potentially setting a precedent for other crypto projects aiming for true decentralisation.
