India has announced its participation in Dubai Expo 2020 and its pavilion will take a one-acre plot at the event venue.
Dilip Chenoy, secretary-general of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) said the pavilion will showcase India's strength in innovation and start-ups.
FICCI is India’s leading industry association, and it has been tasked with helping the government to prepare the Indian presence at Expo 2020.
Dr Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India, added that the pavilion will "focus on connecting minds through sustainable and futuristic technologies integrated with rich traditions which have been nurtured in 5,000 years old Indian civilisation".
He added that India's participation in Dubai Expo 2020 is "reflective of the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE".
Expo 2020 Dubai will be held between October 20, 2020 and April 10, 2021 under the theme "Connecting minds, creating the future".
