Pavan Kapoor has been named as the new Indian ambassador to the UAE.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs revealed the appointment and said he would take up his new role in Abu Dhabi, “shortly”.
A former Indian Foreign Service officer, Kapoor will be moving to the UAE from Israel where he held a similar position. Before that, he was high commissioner in Maputo, Mozambique.
