Dubai issues 4,076 new business licences during January leading to 10,782 jobs last month, according to latest figures
Dubai issued 4,076 new business licences during January leading to 10,782 jobs as the emirate continued to enhance its appeal as a destination for sustainable business growth.
The Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) sector in Dubai Economy said a total of 30,582 transactions were recorded last month, up 22 percent compared to the same period last year.
The report showed the businessmen who secured new licences during January included those from Britain, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
According to the report, 70.4 percent of the new licences issued in January were professional, followed by 28 percent commercial. Bur Dubai accounted for the largest share (2,299), of licences followed by Deira (1,772).
Real estate, leasing and business services accounted for 48.5 percent of the economic activities licensed in January, followed by trade and repair services (22.7 percent), building and construction (9.3 percent), community and personal services (7.6 percent), transport, storage & communications (3.7 percent), and hotels (3.1 percent).
