An additional 25 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed by authorities in Kuwait, it was announced on Thursday.
According to Kuwaiti authorities, the new confirmed cases bring the total in Kuwait to 342.
Earlier on Thursday morning, Kuwait’s state-run KUNA news agency, an additional individual was confirmed to have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 81.
A total of 261 patients are still receiving medical treatment, while another 15 are in intensive care units, including five who remain in critical condition.
Kuwaiti authorities have repeatedly urged citizens to follow guidelines and instructions given by local entities and the World Health Organisation, such as maintaining social distancing and home quarantine measures.
Additionally, KUNA also reported that commercial flights to and from Kuwait City International airport remain suspended until further notice, following directives from the country’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, or DGCA.
Globally, there have been 950,425 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of the afternoon of April 2, including 48,276 deaths and over 202,000 recoveries.
