Revealed: New food-related activities exempt from Covid-19 disinfection programme restrictions

Dubai Economy said that meat, fruit and vegetable trading, roasters, mills trading, coffee trading and tea trading firms are exempt from earlier restrictions.

Nine food-related trading activities are now exempt from closing during the National Disinfection Programme in the UAE, Dubai Economy has announced.

In a statement, Dubai Economy said that meat, fruit and vegetable trading, roasters, mills trading, coffee trading and tea trading firms are exempt from earlier restrictions.

Nuts, chocolates and sweet shops are allowed to remain open only if they are located inside shopping malls. Workers in these outlets must obtain a move permit from dxbpermit.gov.ae.

Working hours at these outlets is restricted to 8am to 8pm

“The outlets must adhere to the guidelines on sanitisation and social distancing,” the statement added. “Dubai Economy will conduct inspection campaigns to make sure that the outlets comply to the relevant circulars”

Earlier in April, authorities announced that the UAE National Disinfection Programme is to continue indefinitely.

The programme was initially launched on March 26, but was extended and was due to come to a conclusion on April 4.
