Covid-19: Chinese firm donates 100,000 masks to Dubai Police

UAE-based Chinese company Al Fonoon Group and its subsidiary Luxury Holiday Photography Studio has donated 100,000 surgical masks to Dubai Police to help officers stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic, the company has announced.

In a statement, the company said that masks were purchased from a certified medical supply factory in China and handed over to Dubai Police Headquarters on March 30.

China’s Consul General in Dubai, Li Xuhang, said that the donation reflects the “heartfelt sentiments” of Chinese expats towards Dubai Police and that he hopes it strengthens the ties between the two countries.

Al Fonoon Group’s chairman, Zhang Zijun – an 18 year resident of the UAE – said that he feels “obliged” to fight against Covid-19 in the country “that has given him so much.”

Al Fonoon Group focuses on materials supply, customs clearance, transportation and the installation of tents.
