A total of 13 people have died as a result of the coronavirus in Kuwait

Kuwait detects 168 new Covid-19 infections

Kuwait has confirmed 168 new Covid-19 infections in the country, bringing its total to 2,248, according to the state-run KUNA News Agency.

Two additional deaths – Indian nationals aged 57 and 75 - were also reported by Kuwaiti authorities. The country’s death total now stands at 13.

In a daily briefing, Kuwaiti Health ministry spokesperson Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad said that 50 patients were in intensive care, of which 21 remain in critical condition.

A total of 1,792 patients are currently receiving treatment in Kuwaiti hospitals.

More than 2.57 million cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed around the world, including over 179,000 deaths.

About 705,000 people have recovered from the virus.
